Meldola

Meldola is located at the beginning of the Bidente Valley, on the road leading from the Forlì area towards the Apennines. It is overlooked by the imposing Rocca, probably dating back to the 11th century, dominated first by the Montefeltro, then by the Ordelaffi and Malatesta families. Of great interest is the “Rocca delle Caminate”, a fortress built in the 11th century as a defensive and sighting bastion.

Meldola is also home to the ‘Ciro Ronchi’ Silkworm Museum, a reminder of the town’s role over the centuries as the centre of silkworm production.
