Forlimpopoli, also known as Città Artusiana (Artusi City), is internationally renowned for being the birthplace of the great scholar and gastronome Pellegrino Artusi. In his honour, every year the Artusiana Festival is celebrated, an artistic-culinary event in which Romagna cuisine is the protagonist. Forlimpopoli, is located along the Via Emilia between Forlì and Cesena. A city rich in history, it was founded by the Romans in the 2nd century BC. Among the most important monuments is the Rocca Albornoziana, which dominates the main square and houses the Civic Archaeological Museum with precious evidence of local history, from the Palaeolithic to the Middle Ages.
