Dovadola

Dovadola is located about 8 km from Castrocaro Terme. It is a charming village immersed in the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of the Romagna Apennines. Here, the narrow, charming streets of the centre, lined with old stone houses and historic buildings, take visitors on a journey through time.

One of the treasures to be discovered is the Abbey of Sant’Andrea, rich in priceless works of art and guardian of the tomb of Benedetta Bianchi Porro.

Dovadola is an ideal destination for travellers desirous of an experience outside the usual tourist flows, embraced by a lush nature that offers hiking and trekking enthusiasts the opportunity to explore paths immersed in the greenery of the surrounding hills.

Also not to be missed is a visit to the Hermitage of Montepaolo, the most important Antonian sanctuary in the region, where a relic of St Antonio of Padua is kept. Two evocative routes unfold from here: Sentiero della Speranza (Path of Hope) and Viale dei Mosaici (Avenue of Mosaics).

One of the best occasions to visit Dovadola is during the Fair of the Precious White Truffle of Romagna, dedicated to this famous speciality, held every year in October.
