From the Latin ‘Civitatula’ (small town), it rises along the Bidente river valley, on the road leading to Santa Sofia. A rural town, strongly bound to agriculture, it is rich in small craft activities and famous for its typical products. Its agricultural vocation intersects with the more recent tourist offer, with many agritourisms and wineries. Entering the village, one can still observe the urban structure of the medieval period. In addition, sections of the rampart walls and part of the ancient castle are visible: the tower, rebuilt in Gothic style, and the clock from 1842.
